Molcajete (mohl-kah-heh-teh) is a stone tool, a Mexican version of the mortar and pestle, that is used to create a number of traditional Mexican dishes. Most Mexican spices are smashed using the molcajete (mortar) giving these dishes a unique, authentic flavor, taste and designed to retain heat.
