Vietnamese iced coffee, or cà phê sữa đá, is a rich, refreshing drink known for its bold flavor and unique brewing method. Traditionally, it’s made by slowly dripping hot water through a metal drip filter, called a phin, over coarsely ground dark roast coffee. This slow brewing process creates a strong, concentrated coffee that’s often mixed with sweetened condensed milk, which adds a creamy sweetness balancing the coffee’s intense, slightly bitter notes. Served over ice, it becomes a perfectly chilled, invigorating drink that’s both energizing and delicious. Vietnamese iced coffee is loved for its full-bodied flavor, smooth texture, and perfect harmony of sweet and strong tastes. We worked with a famous Berkeley roastery to design our own Vietnamese coffee.
